In a rapidly digitising world, some of the richest legacies risk being lost. Noolthettam, the life’s work of bibliographer N. Selvarajah, carries within it over four decades of carefully collected and categorised Tamil literature. But this vast archive lived only in the physical world—until now.

When Selvarajah approached Chanmax, he came not just as a client but as a custodian of culture. He wanted a modern, high-performing platform on which researchers, students, and Tamil enthusiasts worldwide could easily access his archive.
This wasn’t about a website — it was about creating a cultural digital bridge.
From Paper to Platform in Just 15 Days
We approached this mission with laser focus. Using tools like WordPress, Elementor, and ACF Pro, our team built a completely custom solution in just two weeks.
Each book and bibliographic record was made fully searchable. Categories were designed to be intuitive. The UI was minimal but elegant, ensuring that the design never outshone the content—a true reflection of Tamil literary sensibility.
And yes, performance was critical. So we optimised every line of code and asset to reach a Google Lighthouse score of 99%, ensuring fast load times even for large bibliographic databases.
A Database That Tells a Story
A total of over 46 Tamil books have been carefully added to the platform, along with a bibliographic dataset containing 15000 rows. This allows users to easily search, filter, and explore the works. The content management system (CMS) was designed to enable the client to update and manage records independently, without the need for developer assistance.
For global accessibility, the layout was fully responsive, ensuring seamless mobile and tablet experiences, particularly for users in Tamil diaspora communities.
